4th of July

We spent this past Tuesday through Sunday at the cottage. It was a wonderful time to relax, be outside, have some fun and spend time with family. There were tons of kids at both neighbors, which was a blast for Madisyn! Most days she spent all day in the water. A couple of weekends ago she got her first Seadoo ride and this past weekend she got her first tubing ride. She did great, even wanted Papa to go faster! We actually got going a lot faster than I thought she'd like.

Meanwhile Landon has been getting very strong! He rolled over for the first time on the 7th and has several times since then. One night at the cottage he even slept nine hours! I think he's finally getting more consistent with his sleeping patterns. Or at least we hope :)

Oh yeah... one little piece of bad news. I managed to sprain my ankle for the third time since Landon was born. It happened during my six mile run a week and a half ago, while I was still a mile and a half out! It's still slightly swollen and hurts :( I'm going to try to tape it the way the trainers in college did so that I can get running sooner rather than later. I think for a while, I'll try to stay closer to home when I'm running ;)

Landon looks so much older suddenly! Well, he's already 4+ months... it seems like you just had him! Sorry to hear about your ankle! Can you tape it yourself? You probably know exactly how after all those years of XC...

Glad you guys had a good time on the 4th! I was waiting for your post... :)

Landon and Madisyn (did I spell that right?) and so stinkin CUTE! Sorry to hear about the ankle...hopefully it will fell better soon!

Aren't cottage's the best?!?!?! We go to ours as often as we can. Seems like the best place for family fun in the summer!

Thanks for the reassurance...I'll have to hear those stitches stories sometime :)

We have been busy as well. Things have been crazy for Matt at work (I'm sure you remember those car sales days well :)). I'm sure we will find a time to get together, hopefully before the kids go off to college.

Madisyn is so brave tubing! Dylan fell off once with Matt's brother and now he says "I no go on tube. I fall off with Chad."

Did you know that b/c of hormones associated with pregnancy (probably cortisol, estradiol, progesterone, or relaxin), ligaments become much more lax and susceptible to sprains?...and once they have been sprained (or over overstretched)they don't get back their normal strength or resilience...AKA - be careful with that ankle! And taping that is done with not really knowing how to do it can only cause more problems - have someone professionally do it first and show you how specifically!

Landon is getting so big! I love the pics of Madisyn at the cottage. The Lake is a great place to be a kid! Hope to see you soon!

Looks like you guys had a ton of fun! I can't imagine trying to get around with two kids and a bum ankle!! They don't sit still for anything do they. :) You're kids are growing fast, that little Landon is heart breaker. :)

We are a busy family of five! I enjoy time with my husband and kids, running, being outdoors, shopping for deals, and cuddling. My wonderful husband keeps busy playing with the kiddos, hunting, fishing, exercising and working on projects around the house. Madisyn is six, in 1st grade, loves being outdoors and isn't one bit afraid of bugs or worms! Landon is four, a spitting image of Daddy, and is the sweetest, naughtiest and funniest little boy, all in one! Tinley was born February 24, 2012 and has already blessed us beyond belief! Here's a glimpse into our crazy and wonderful lives... hope you enjoy!

Tiece of Cake

I've finally decided to make a blog (Tiece of cake) dedicated to cakes... as to not consume the family blog.
