Milestone...

Sunday night I hear Rob whistling , but then he says, "Are you listening to that?" Meanwhile, the whistling is still going on... I look at Landon and it wasn't Rob whistling, it was Landon... crawling, whistling, and going on with his business as usual, like everything is normal. It truly was a spectacle. I couldn't believe my eyes or ears.

Rob said that Landon had also whistled the day before (while I was gone). If we get lucky enough to catch it on tape, I'll post it! I can't believe our little 10 month old peanut is whistling!

Ouch!

Today I'm driving home, it's dark, but I see something in the corner of my eye... it's one of the neighbor boys by a street sign. I looked again, and again, and sure enough, he was stuck to the pole via his tongue (the kind with the little holes in it to screw the street sign on). Poor kid is screaming, and I don't know what to do...

I tell him to stop pulling (he tried to tell me that he's not, but it's very obvious that he has been due to the blood all over his tongue) and I send the neighbor girl (who is just standing there) to get her parents. Before long the little boy's dad shows up and relieves him with some warm water.

Unbelievable! I felt so bad for him! Then Rob proceeds to tell me that "everyone has stuck their tongue to a pole"... NOT ME!

Madisyn

I wish I could video tape it, but lately when we put Madisyn to bed, she's decided that she's going to sing her prayer (in a really high voice - which is already high :) ). When she's done she says, "That's the new one."

Rob and I were discussing something the other day (actually that I needed to shower since I smelled) and Madisyn puts her hands over her eyes and forehead and says, "Oh, my word!"

Rob said, "What did you say?!"

She repeats the hand motion and says, "Oh, my word!"

Rob and I stare at each other and start to chuckle, where did she get this?

THEN she starts shaking her head and follows-up with, "I can't believe it!"

Macaroni Pizza

So one of the things I love about the kids’ daycare is that they get to go on field trips. This week they went to Papa John's and "made" pizza (i.e. picked out their toppings and watched them being made) and they also went to Soccer Zone. Anyway... after she went to Papa John's, I asked her about her experience.

"Madisyn, did you go make pizza today?"

"Yes, we did"

"What did you put on your pizza?"

"Macaroni."

"Really? You put macaroni on your pizza?"

"Yes, I had macaroni on my pizza."

Rob pipes in, "Do you pepperoni?"

"Yeah, pepperoni." :D

Let's make a deal

Lately, Madisyn loves to try to make deals with us. We’ll ask her to do something, like pick up her toys, and she’ll say, “Okay, I’ll pick up my toys and then I can get a treat, that’ll be the deal?” It’s so cute that I tend to give in more often than not.

Or she’ll ask for something, like chicken nuggets for dinner, and we’ll say, “No, not today, we’re going to have spaghetti for dinner.”

She’ll reply, “Okay, first I’ll have pasketti and THEN I can have chicken nuggets, that’ll be the deal?” :) She’s our little optimistic.




Little boy Landon, as I like to call him, has been trying to talk lately. He babbles (i.e. mamama, dadada, nanana, ooooooo, etc…) and lately he’s begun to try to say “Uh oh.” Occasionally it’s “Uh oh,” but more often is “ugh (soft) OH (loud)” It’s fun to hear him try. He also loves waving when people say “Hi” or “Bye.”

He’s still creeping along furniture and doesn’t seem too eager to take steps on his own (although Rob swears that he took a step by accident the other day).

Rob's birthday

Happy VERY belated birthday to the love of my life! You are truly the most perfect man for me, I can not begin to imagine my life without you!!! Thank you for being an incredible husband and father!

We were able to celebrate for his whole birthday weekend and actually got to go out twice! Once, just the two of us, and the other night with friends :)

Christmas!

We got some pictures from Rob's parents and his sister and brother-in-law :) Unfortunately that means that there are no Christmas pictures from the Grandia Christmas, but at least we have some of Landon's first Christmas! Here you go!

So sad...

I somehow deleted all of our Christmas pictures from our camera :( I'm hoping to get more from family and will post some when I do. For now, here's Madisyn pushing Landon on his new truck, quite a hit for both kids ;)
